The Anambra State haulage revenue coordinator, Hon. Osita Ezeuka, Friday, reads riot act to members of his organization vowing to suspend erring ones even as he commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo, for sacking touts in the state.
Sounding the note of warning
while addressing the members during the maiden prayer session held at Asaba Park,
Onitsha Bridge head approach, to ward off evils within the haulage transport
sector, Hon. Ezeuka, reiterated his resolve to sack the bad eggs who according
to him drag the image of the organization to the mud.
"With the sack of the
touts by Soludo, days were gone when road workers smashed vehicle glasses,
doors and looted the vehicle. This time we show human face in whatever we do.
Now you have gentlemen on the road who operate in line with the road rules and
regulations.
"God, through Governor
Chukwuma Soludo, brought our head, Chief Greg Ezeilo, to improve on the state
Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, and I thank God that he is equal to the
task. Actually he has been able to improve on it which has assisted immensely
towards the rapid infrastructural development of the state.
"I commend Governor
Chukwuma Soludo for sacking touts in the state as money meant for the state
went to their private pause. However, they have now resorted to using charms to
distabilize the smooth running of the transport sector in a bid to have their
way back but with prayers which we have embarked upon monthly, there is no
cause for alarm," he assured.
In his homily, the Presiding
Pastor, Jeremiah Ezeh, who is the state park management Evangelical
coordinator, urged the road transport workers to see their call to duty as
humanitarian service adding that every one has a divine call different from
others.
He commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo, through the chairman, Anambra Internal Revenue Service,
AIRS, Chief Greg Ezeilo, for finding Hon. Ezeuka, worthy for the job assuring
that he will not disappoint in his duty.
Highlight of the occasion was
entertainment of the congregation with gospel music by Uche Vera, (guest
artist), through her group live band.
