Edo: Obaseki Resigns From PDP

Benjamin Obaseki, a prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oredo Local Government of Edo State, has tendered his resignation from the party. Obaseki formally submitted his resignation letter dated June 12, 2024, to the local government chairman of the PDP.

Until his resignation, Obaseki served as an ex-official within the Oredo Local Government chapter and was a member of Ward 10. In his resignation letter, he expressed regret over his decision, citing a perceived disconnect between the party's leadership and its grassroots members.

"It has been an incredible journey and a pleasure to be part of the once vibrant political family that achieved numerous victories together," Obaseki stated. "However, I believe it is time for me to move on for personal growth. The current leadership of the party has lost touch with its members, displaying insensitivity to our concerns."

Obaseki further criticized the internal discord within the party at the state level, lamenting its potential to erode the party's foundation. "With the current leadership, especially under the governor's influence, I see little hope for the party's future," he added. "I refuse to be engulfed by the infighting that threatens to undermine the PDP's integrity."
