Iyom stands as a ray of inspiration to countless individuals and undeniably ranks among the most influential female politicians in Nigeria. Over the years, she has consistently showcased her exceptional qualities as a distinguished leader, earning widespread admiration and respect from her constituents and others.

Her journey, marked by unwavering commitment and a thirst for selfless service, serves as an inspiration to all who dare to make a difference. Iyom's hard work and dedication to duty in the private sector laid the foundation for her remarkable ascent. Her tenure as an area manager in the banking sector showcased her meticulous nature and unwavering integrity, qualities that would later define her political career.

Transitioning into politics in 2007, Senator Ekwunife's trajectory was nothing short of impressive. Elected into the Federal House of Representatives to represent the Anaocha/Njikoka/Dunukofia Federal Constituency of Anambra State, she was one of 11 women elected in 2007 and was re-elected in 2011.
