Raheem Sterling not leaving Chelsea

Raheem Sterling was a key arrival in Chelsea's summer transfer window.

He was seen as a key missing element in the club faltering attack.   Unfortunately, that attack  only got worse despite Sterling himself leading the pack with 6 goals  in 25 games – 1-in-3 average at Manchester City, but still decent for a winger at 1-in-4.

Sterling’s 300 min/goal pace is only bettered by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who has 3 goals in less than 900 minutes of action.

Meanwhile, Chelsea's mission has evolved from winning (trophies) to 'rebuilding', which isn't exactly what Sterling signed up for. As with all of our acquisitions over the past two decades, he has joined the search for silverware.

And while we might revisit the idea at some point, we're sticking with one or two goals for now.  No wonder there have been some random rumours  of late that Sterling could be off the ship this summer, but according to his agent, he's not currently contemplating such thoughts.

“Sterling has not expressed his disappointment at Chelsea Football Club and having entrusted his long-term future to a new owner this summer there will be no review of his position in the next transfer window.  He  looks forward to continuing the success of past seasons. "
