A Magistrate court in Ekiti State has granted human rights lawyer, Dele Farotimi N30 million bail.
Farotimi arrived at the Ekiti Magistrate Court this morning December 20 with heavy security comprising policemen and other law enforcement agents.

Adeosun, who ruled on his bail application, listed the conditions for his bail
as follows two sureties, who are responsible citizens in the society, with the
defendant asked to leave his international passport with the court. He is also
not to grant media interviews during the pendency of the case.
Farotimi was remanded in prison
custody on December 7, 2024, after being arrested on 16 counts of criminal
defamation following the publication of his book, Nigeria and Its Criminal
Justice System.
