The Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) has approved the construction of additional feeder roads in its latest move to enhance infrastructure and improve the quality of life for residents.
At its 38th meeting, ANSEC
greenlit the Uga - Amesi - Otikpo Road project, which includes a spur leading
to the Catholic Cathedral in Ekwulobia. This new road is expected to ease
transportation, stimulate economic activity, and improve the well-being of communities
in the affected areas.
The construction contract has
been awarded to JOVIANI Engineering Ltd at a cost of N1,262,534,727 (One
Billion, Two Hundred and Sixty-Two Million, Five Hundred and Thirty-Four
Thousand, Seven Hundred and Twenty-Seven Naira). The project is set to be
completed within six months from the mobilization date.
This initiative is part of the
state government’s ongoing commitment to critical infrastructure development,
aimed at fostering socio-economic growth, reducing poverty, and enhancing rural
access.
The Anambra State Government
reiterated its commitment to continue delivering transformative projects that
will uplift the state and improve citizens’ lives.
