The Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief Protocol to Governor Soludo, Hon. Chinedu Nwoye (Glamour), flagged off the construction of an ultra-modern city gate located at the entrance of Enugu Agidi along the Enugu/Onitsha Expressway this past week.
The new city gate, designed
with entrance and exit points large enough to accommodate any size of vehicle,
is expected to be completed and commissioned by December 2024.
Speaking at the flag-off
ceremony, Hon. Nwoye, who also serves as the Convener of the Soludo Support
Group (SSG), praised the leadership of the Ebubedike Age Grade for taking the
bold step. He noted that the project aligns with Governor Soludo’s objectives
of building a livable, sustainable, and prosperous homeland, emphasizing that
the construction of the city gate is a significant step toward community
development.
He commended the Age Grade for
embracing the Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo Public-Private Community
Partnership (PPCP) to revitalize the entrance of the ancient city and connect
it to the state capital and neighboring communities, fostering rapid
transformation, economic growth, and development.
Calling for continued support
for the Governor in delivering the dividends of democracy to Ndi Anambra, Hon.
Nwoye further stressed that Governor Soludo made several promises to Ndi
Anambra upon taking office and assured them that the current administration is
committed to fulfilling every one of them, by the grace of God.
Also speaking, Engr. Chidi
Anenye, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Skygate
Engineering Ltd, a civil/structural engineering construction company that has
successfully completed several government and private projects in Anambra,
thanked the community leaders for awarding the contract. He assured them of
timely delivery and promised to adhere to standard specifications.
In his remarks, the President
General of Enugu Agidi, Hon. Chukwuebuka Onurah, who is also a member of the
Age Grade, reiterated his administration's commitment to promoting community
development projects. He cited the city gate’s completion as a testament to
their readiness to collaborate with stakeholders for further economic
transformation and development in the community.
He commended Governor Soludo
for his accomplishments in road infrastructure, healthcare delivery, youth
empowerment, security, agricultural revolution, commerce, and industry, among
other areas, and pledged their unwavering support to help Governor Soludo elevate
Anambra to greater heights.
The Chairman of the Ebubedike
Age Grade in Enugu-Agidi expressed his gratitude to Hon. Nwoye for honoring
their invitation. He explained that their objective in embarking on the project
was to boost economic growth and encourage community development.
He affirmed their readiness to
collaborate with the state government on major projects for the community and
promised to provide all necessary resources for the project's completion. He
also pledged their votes to re-elect Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo in the 2025
Anambra gubernatorial election.
