"I have heard you loud and clear" said president Tinubu. He proceeded to make hollow declarations viz: (1) Hope City and Estate to build 500 units of housing in each state and 1,000 in three years; (2) Importing tractors and mechanized farming equipment for Agriculture to cultivate farms and incentive to farmers including fertilizers (3) "Now that we have been enjoying democratic governance for 25 years" , is that so; with the massive rigging of elections including the 2023 presidential election?
Fact remains that Tinubu has
failed to frontally address the CORE ISSUES that triggered the nationwide
protest.
(1)First and foremost, he
should kickstart immediate Restructuring of the lopsided Federation to restore
realistic principles of federal system of government as was practiced in the
First Republic.
(2) Integral to Restructuring
the Federation, state police is a desideratum, irrespective of the gimmickry
going on in the National Assembly on state police.
(3) The security agencies must
be mobilized to drive away foreign fulani occupants of all the villages in
southern Kaduna, Plateau and Benue state to go back to where they came from
because the useless ECOWAS protocol free movement across West African countries
is only applicable in Nigeria because of the hidden Islamization agenda, this
is a clear fact. Sane and sanitized countries NEVER allowed their borders
thrown open for the infiltration of foreigners, more so Fulani herdsmen
described as the 4th most terrorists groups in the world. Who is fooling whom?
(4) In Federations the world
over, Housing program and Agriculture are operated by the State Governments and
not Federal Government.
(5) While awaiting
Restructuring the lopsided Federation, New Revenue Sharing Formula should be
arranged between the federal government and State governments alone. Let State
Governments take care and arrange how to manage the local administration
wrongly called "Local Government Council" by the military Decreed
fraudulent 1999 constitution supposedly under amendments ostensibly to pander
to the preferences, inanities and venality of the Northern Moslems at the expense
and detriment of the Southern part of the country.
Until these 4 clearly identified issues are given immediate attention, president Tinubu should be seen as not serious about Good Governance which is the pith and marrow of the nationwide protest by the youths.
Federal
Government Complicit Silence In Ethnic Cleansing In Southern Kaduna, Plateau,
Benue States
Daily Independent Editorial
Captioned "Serial Killings In Plateau Benue StateS", August 2, 2024
reads in part:
"There is no let-up in the
impunity of the herdsmen. Currently, about 150 communities in Plateau state are
said to be illegally occupied by armed herders; they have uprooted the original
owners from their ancestral lands.
"On Wednesday, June 26,
2024, Amnesty International, AI, released a report on the savagery of herdsmen
in Benue state. It noted that “50 rural communities in the state recorded at
least 135 attacks leading to the deaths of over 2,600 people, many of whom are
women and children.
"This has left hundreds
displaced, wounded, raped and others kidnapped. These attacks are significantly
affecting food security and livelihood, because the affected communities are
farmers and displacement makes them unable to carry out any farming.
"The Tinubu-led government
should muster the political will to call for a holistic investigation into the
killings and the prosecution of all those involved.
" Any herder, indeed any
citizen, caught with AK-47 or any prohibited weapon must be promptly arrested
and prosecuted. The federal government must end the macabre culture of
complicit silence and appeasement of the gun-toting herdsmen, who have ravaged
the entire landscape of the country in recent years".
***Comment:
To say that there has been an
official policy for ethnic cleansing in southern Kaduna, Plateau, middle belt
states, is merely stating the obvious. During the eight years of the locust
Buhari administration, all the mindless slaughtering of indigenous people were
never addressed. In the administration of"Emilokan", the same macabre
dance is being witnessed. What other evidence does the International Community
need to intervene to flush out the terrorists masquerading as herdsmen who had
the northern borders deliberately flung open for their infiltration ostensibly
for ethnic cleansing and territorial expansion to swell the population of
Moslems in Nigeria in the name of useless ECOWAS protocol free movement?
Until Nigeria Federation is
restructured, the Islamization agenda will be on the move without stopping. Who
is fooling whom in the apparently "expired Nigeria"?
