The All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate for the November 8, 2028, election in Anambra State, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, has reiterated his commitment to transformative governance, promising to deliver impactful reforms within his first 100 days in office when elected.
According to him, agriculture, trade, and basic infrastructure will top his priorities. “We will provide free grants, quality seeds, and ensure security for our farmers within the first 100 days,” he pledged. “Our traders will also be empowered with accessible funding to grow their businesses and improve livelihoods.”
Prince Ukachukwu expressed concern over the persistent lack of pipe-borne water in major towns such as Ekwulobia. “It is unacceptable that a city like Ekwulobia still lacks access to clean water. We will change that,” he stated.
Reaffirming
his commitment to good governance, he added, “Things will work for the better.
We will fix Anambra. We say no to bad governance.”
“Anambra
Needs Visionary Leadership” – Ekwunife
Running
mate Senator (Iyom) Uche Ekwunife joined Ukachukwu in addressing the crowd,
declared that Anambra State is tired of leadership that fails to deliver.
“There is insecurity in the state. Basic infrastructure is lacking. The people
are frustrated,” she said.
She emphasized that Prince Ukachukwu will not only provide physical infrastructure but also meet the immediate needs of the people through what she described as “stomach infrastructure.” “Anambra needs a man who is tested and trusted, a leader with vision and capacity. The time is now, and that man is Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu,” she affirmed.
Party
Leaders Drum Support for APC Candidate
The APC State Chairman, Chief Basil Ejidike, urged voters to focus on the party’s symbol; the broom, on the ballot paper. “When you see the broom, that’s where to thumbprint. That is Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu,” he said.
Prominent APC stakeholder JohnBosco Onunkwo, who donated an 18-seater campaign bus, described Ukachukwu as a man whose time has come. “He is the leader who will wipe away the tears of the people. Organic votes are waiting for him on November 8.”
Professor Carter Dikwe Nnamdi Umeh, a respected APC stalwart, declared Ukachukwu’s candidacy as prophetic. “Just like John the Baptist, he has prepared for this day. 'Nicholas' means 'victory of the people', and so shall it be. Anambra is set for a new dawn under Prince Ukachukwu.”
Former
Speaker, Other Stakeholders Lend Voice
Former Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Ike Uzoezie, stressed the united front of APC leaders behind Ukachukwu’s bid. “We are determined to correct the anomalies of the past. APC is the party to take Anambra to the centre. Tell your communities that the time for change has come.”
Professor Paul Orajiaka lamented years of neglect, especially in the agricultural sector. “Even fertilizer, which other states receive, was out of our reach this season. We must vote wisely. Prince Ukachukwu represents our path forward.”
Earlier in his remarks, Hon. Godson Anyadike, Chairman of the APC in Aguata Local Government Area, expressed gratitude for the gathering, saying, “We thank God for making it possible for us to be here today.”
He praised Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu’s candidacy, noting, “Prince Ukachukwu is poised to become the first born-again Christian to govern Anambra State, a man of integrity and spiritual grounding.”
Addressing infrastructure, he reminded the audience that the ongoing federal road project is an initiative of the APC-led federal government. “That road is a federal government project, an APC project. The incoming governor, Prince Ukachukwu, will not only continue it but do even better. There is no need to fear its continuity.”
Quoting scripture, he concluded with optimism: “When the righteous is on the throne, the people rejoice. With a righteous man like Prince Ukachukwu on the path to leadership, the people of Anambra have every reason to rejoice.”
PDP
Defectors Strengthen APC Base
In a surprising show of momentum, Hon. Sunday Nnamdi, leader of 20 former PDP Ward Chairmen who recently defected to APC, declared full support for Prince Ukachukwu. “The APGA cock is dead. We assure you of our massive grassroots support,” he told the cheering crowd.
With
growing backing across local government areas and strong party unity, Prince
Ukachukwu’s candidacy continues to gain traction among voters hungry for
purposeful leadership and transformational governance.
