Sir Amechi Ebeledike, AASDU, PresidentAssociation of Anambra State Development Unions, AASDU, Lagos branch has elected new officers that would pilot affairs of the association for a term of three years.
The election which was keenly contested with 154 registered voters was held on Sunday at Enugwu-Ukwu Hall, Lagos. A 17-man executive committee was sworn in to steer its affairs. The executive members were sworn in by the Anambra State Liaison Officer, Lagos.
Those
sworn in were Sir Amechi Ebeledike, President, First Vice President Ichie
Jonathan Mezie Okoye, Second Vice President, Chief Mezie Okwuosa, Third Vice
President Barr. Okwuchukwu Udeagwa, and Barr. Nnaemeka Emenari, General
Secretary.
Others
are Mr. Stanley Ezenga, Assistant General Secretary, Dr Earnest Udemba,
Treasurer, Chief Idemili Jones Jonathan, Financial Secretary, Chief Aldophus
Emenike, Assistant Financial Secretary, Chief Chidi Abajue, Publicity
Secretary; and Chibuzor Chibuzor, Assistant Publicity Secretary.
Also
sworn in were Nze Uche Ezemmaduka, Director of Socials, Comrade Chiedu Agina,
Assistant Director of Socials, Mr. Ifeanyi Ezeh, Chief Provost, Barr. Sam
Ifeme, Legal Adviser; and Barr. Henry Obi Ezeude; Assistant Legal Adviser.
The
rest were Chief Emma Okafor, Ex-Officio, Sir Eric Nwafor, Ex-Officio, Chief Joe
Anyaeche, Ex-Officio, Chief Ben Egwudobi, Ex-Officio; and Engr Beresford Cole
Henry, Ex-Officio.
Performing
the swearing in ceremony for the new elected officers, the Senior Special
Assistant to Anambra State Governor cum Liaison Officer, Lagos (SSA/LO), Barr.
Leo Chiegboka commended the newly elected members for emerging victorious at
the polls.
He
charged them to work towards the development of Anambra irrespective of party
affiliation.
Barr.
Chiegboka urged the association to carry out positive programmes that would be
beneficial to indigenes of Anambra State.
In his
acceptance speech, the President, Sir Amechi Ebeledike, who was returned
unopposed called for support towards the activities and image promotion of
AASDU.
He
promised to carry every member along and also protect their interests.
Sir
Ebeledike commended the peaceful atmosphere and comportment of members during
the election.
In his
remarks the Chairman of the electoral committee, Chief Ike Umeh commended the
peaceful conduct of the election.
