FCCPC Seals Abuja Chinese Supermarket Over Discrimination Against Nigerians

The Chinese supermarket within the China General Chamber of Commerce in Abuja, Nigeria's capital, has been sealed by the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC).

Following the interrogation of Nigerian workers, FCCPC officials closed the premises on Monday. Nigerians had protested the supermarket's discriminatory policy, which favored Chinese nationals.

The facility manager, Shaibu Sanusi, noted that while Nigerians within the complex could shop, those outside could not. The supermarket's owner, Cindy Liu Bei, reportedly fled with her family when FCCPC officials arrived, leading to the closure of the store.
