The palace of Igwe Emmanuel Nnabuife, the traditional ruler of Isseke Community in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, has been set ablaze by assailants whose identities remain unknown.
Fortunately, no lives were
lost, and no injuries were reported during the incident.
Confirming the unfortunate
event, Igwe Emmanuel Nnabuife stated that his residence fell victim to the
assailants, expressing bewilderment as he emphasized having no conflicts within
his community that could warrant such an attack.
He lamented the loss, stating,
“It is true that my palace was burnt down by some individuals, and I have lost
everything that I labored all my life to achieve. As it is now, I am homeless.
Everything was razed down, but I thank God that no lives were lost, and nobody
was harmed. This is the reality in my town, Isseke.”
However, Tochukwu Ikenga, the
spokesperson for the Police State Command, described the incident as a case of
arson at the monarch’s palace, confirming that an investigation has been
initiated.
“The command has commenced an
investigation into the case of arson that took place at Igwe Isseke’s Palace.
We are already in contact with eyewitnesses in the area where the incident
occurred. For now, no reports of loss of life have been received, and the
extent of property damage is yet to be determined. I will make an enquiry
regarding any possible abductions and get back to you,” he stated.
