- As Polytechnic solicits for construction of school roads, perimeter Fence

The President of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, commended the Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Engr. Dr. Mrs. Francisca Unoma Nwafulugo, and Tetfund for the construction of two multimillion-naira ultramodern hostels. These projects are part of the numerous initiatives undertaken during her tenure as the polytechnic rector.
President Tinubu conveyed his appreciation through Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, the Senate Committee Chairman on Petroleum Downstream sector, who represented him. Senator Ubah acknowledged the accomplishments of Engr. Nwafulugo, the first female rector of Fedpoly Oko, emphasizing her effective management of funds allocated for the projects. He also highlighted Tetfund's role in sponsoring these projects.
Engr. Nwafulugo, in her address, celebrated a historic milestone—the provision of on-campus accommodation for male students after 43 years. She called on well-meaning Nigerians to partner with the polytechnic in constructing more student hostels within the school premises. The hostel buildings, comprising 26 rooms each with a total capacity of 208 students, are equipped with modern facilities to enhance academic performance.
In addition to the hostels, the School of Environmental Design and Technology Building, a capital-funded project, was also commissioned. Other completed projects include the School of General Studies Building and Public Administration Building, sponsored by Tetfund, and the School of Arts Design and Printing Technology Building. Mrs. Nwafulugo expressed gratitude to Tetfund for a special intervention in addressing a gully erosion threat.
The Acting Registrar, Mr. Obinni Onuchukwu, and Tetfund's Director, Dr. Chioma Awuzie, appealed to Senator Ifeanyi Ubah for assistance in constructing a perimeter fence for enhanced security. The Executive Secretary of Tetfund, Arc Sonny Echono, represented by Arc Babatunde Olajide, commended the polytechnic for adhering to project delivery terms and expressed Tetfund's commitment to supporting institutions for global academic excellence.
Igwe Augustine Ngoddy, Ezeogwuike of Atani kingdom, highlighted the challenges faced by students during flood disasters at the Atani campus and urged Tetfund to consider completing infrastructural projects in the area.

Eugene Nwadialor and Prof Ugochukwu Nzewi, Deputy Rector Mr. Uche Onyegbu,
Chief Librarian Dr. Nwabu Ezemba, the polytechnic bursar, Medical Director
Polytechnic Medical Center Dr. Mrs. Ifeoma Monago, PRO Mr. Chijioke Ibeziako,
the President of the Alumni, and the representative of the traditional leader
of Ufuma, Chief Henry Nnebe, among other Directors of Schools and Heads of
Departments.
