In a swift response, operatives of the Nigerian Police, Bauchi State Command, successfully rescued four kidnapped victims, including a pastor, who had been abducted by bandits in a daring attack on Raddi village, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Officer, Superintendent Ahmed Wakil, disclosed these developments in a
statement provided to journalists. The incident, which occurred on Wednesday,
November 29, saw the bandits targeting the residence of Yakubu Makeri in Yagi
village via Rahama ward.
Wakil recounted the events,
stating, "On November 29, 2023, at about 1 a.m., one Sabitu 'm' of Kadade
village via Toro LGA of Bauchi State reported that on the same date at about
12:30 a.m., an unknown number of bandits invaded their village and stormed the
house of one Yakubu Ya’u Makeri, male, of Yagi village via Rahama ward."
Responding to the distress
call, a team of operatives from Rishi Police Divisional Headquarters, in
collaboration with local vigilantes, swiftly moved to the scene and engaged the
bandits in a decisive gun battle.
"The operatives
overpowered the bandits in a gun duel. As a result, one of the bandits was
neutralized while the remaining scattered and abandoned their mission," Wakil
explained.
During the encounter, the
operatives successfully rescued three kidnapped victims: Pastor Bala (50),
Keziya Ayuba (50), and Sunday Ayuba (40), all from Raddi village in Bassa Local
Government Area of Plateau State. These victims were confirmed to have been
kidnapped from their village in Jos, Plateau State.
In response to the incident, the Commissioner of Police has issued directives for the Divisional Police Officer to intensify wider patrols across the area, aiming to apprehend the fleeing bandits and ensure they face the full force of the law.
