Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu affirms ground operations in Gaza until all objectives are accomplished

In a press conference on Saturday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel will continue its ground operations in Gaza until all its goals are achieved. Netanyahu emphasized the importance of ground maneuvering to attain these goals and outlined them as freeing hostages, eradicating Hamas, and preventing a "regime of terror" in Gaza.

"We will continue the war until we achieve all our goals, and we can’t achieve these goals without the ground maneuvering," Netanyahu said. "There are no other ways to achieve these goals but to win, and there is no way to win other than ground maneuvering."

He expressed the significance of achieving these objectives and underscored that it is the only thing that matters. Regarding the freed hostages, Netanyahu refrained from providing details on the conditions in which they were kept in Gaza but mentioned that evidence showed they had experienced difficult circumstances.

French President Emmanuel Macron called on Israeli authorities to define their goals more precisely, questioning the feasibility of the total destruction of Hamas. The U.S. has also urged Israel to be more targeted in its offensive, emphasizing the protection of civilians in Gaza. U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin warned against driving civilians into the arms of the enemy and encouraged responsible rhetoric while expanding access to humanitarian aid.

Netanyahu reiterated a warning against Hezbollah's involvement in the conflict, stating that Israel is actively operating against Hezbollah in the north and is committed to ensuring security in both the north and the south. He cautioned that if Hezbollah enters the expanded war, it would lead to the destruction of Lebanon.
