Two armed men have been arrested in Amichi, Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State, for stealing bags of bitter kola valued at over one million naira (N1,000,000).
The suspects, identified as
Onyenachiya Emmanuel from Afube village in Amichi and Chigbo Okeke, also from
Amichi, allegedly stole phones, ATM cards, and a sum of cash from a young woman
who owned the bitter kola. They also subjected the victim to multiple instances
of rape.
Corroborating these claims is a
video circulating on social media, depicting the suspects undergoing
interrogation with their pump-action gun and the stolen bags of bitter kola
visible in the foreground.
During questioning, Emmanuel
and Okeke reportedly confessed to the crimes, acknowledging that the robbery
occurred at Ebenasa Vllage, Amichi, where the victim resided. They attributed
their actions to the influence of the devil.
In response to inquiries, the
Police Public Relations Officer for the Anambra State Police Command, DSP
Ikenga Tochukwu, assured that further investigations would be conducted, and
updates would be provided in due course.
