Mmadiche Returns Home Amid Encomiums

In a heartwarming display of unity, both in-laws, relatives, friends, and the entire family of the late Mrs. Margaret Oyibo Ezenwa, affectionately known as "Mmadiche," converged at her country home in Otoko village, Isuanaocha, Awka North Local Government Area, to bid their final farewell and pay their last respects to the departed matriarch.

The atmosphere was filled with a profound sense of reverence and a palpable aura of grief as those who had been touched by Mmadiche's life gathered to remember and honour the legacy of a remarkable woman. Mmadiche, who hailed from the Ekwonu family, was known for her kindness, strength, and resilience throughout her life.

Speaking to the press shortly after the funeral, the first child and daughter of the deceased, Mrs. Cordelia Nworah, described her mother as an industrious and generous woman, noting that she will continue to be her mother as many times as possible whenever she would come on earth.

"I sincerely wish to thank everyone who contributed in one way or another and stayed with us throughout this funeral. I pray that God will reward them accordingly and lead them back home safely to reunite with their loved ones," she concluded.

In separate interviews with the in-laws earlier during the funeral, Angus Nworah, also known as Anyichie 1 of Isuanaocha, Christian Ifeajagu, alias Nwatanachonkeya, Mr. Ernest Eze, and Mr. Festus Aghaulo, respectively, described their mother-in-law as a humble woman from a well-known family in Isuanaocha. This background of hers attracted their individual interest in becoming her in-laws.

According to Nworah, "She was truly a good mother-in-law, and we continued living peacefully since I married her first daughter, Cordelia. Today, it is unfortunate that we are mourning her. We can't question God, but we pray that God will bless the bereaved family with long life and prosperity and give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss."

In his words, Ifeajagu said, "We have buried our in-laws, which means that both our father and mother are no longer alive. We can only pray that God will console us and grant us good health to live longer than they lived, while we continue to maintain the good, peaceful relationship among ourselves."

Also speaking, Aghaulo said, "She was the kind of woman that everybody would wish to have as a mother-in-law. There was never a day I visited her when I did not go home with happiness. She was indeed a good woman. May God grant her soul a peaceful rest in His bosom."

The chairman of the Diamond Social Club of Nigeria, Mr. Anthony Otija, on behalf of his members, extended their heartfelt condolences to Johnmark Ezenwa, also known as Alhaji Galadima, who is also their member. He added that even though death is inevitable, there shall not be untimely death in their midst, but rather numerous celebrations of life with greater achievements.

Also in attendance at the funeral were business associates, co-tenants, and neighbors from both Onitsha and farther afield. Ugochukwu Aniukwu was among the many friends and well-wishers who were also in attendance.

The late Ezenwa who was a devoted Catholic faithful and served in seminary school as a caterer in her early days, was laid to rest at the age of 76. She was married and blessed with children.
