South-East governors fully in support of summit on security and economy — Ekwunife, DG, SEGF

The Director General of the Southeast Governors Forum (SEGF), Senator Uche Ekwunife, has expressed full support from the five governors of the South-East states, namely Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo states, for the upcoming South East Security and Economic Summit scheduled to be held in Owerri, Imo State, on Thursday, September 28, and Friday, September 29, 2023.

In a press statement, Senator Ekwunife stated, "The Southeast region's governors wholeheartedly endorse the South-East Security and Economic Summit and are actively preparing to attend the summit alongside key officials from their respective governments. The Planning Committee and its various subcommittees have been diligently working for the past several months to ensure a successful event. We are optimistic that the discussions at the summit will yield concrete and measurable objectives, which, if implemented, will significantly contribute to the development of the South-East region."

Senator Ekwunife went on to say, "We anticipate full participation from the invitees. Many have spoken about a South-East renaissance, and it's a collective endeavor, not just limited to the governors. We all have roles to play by contributing our ideas, suggestions, resources, fulfilling our civic responsibilities, and supporting the socioeconomic initiatives of the various South-East governors."
