Former Anambra Governor's Funeral Plans Unveiled by Family




The preparations and schedule of eventsare in place for the funeral of the former Governor of Anambra State, Chief Chinwoke Clement Mbadinuju (Odera).

It's worth noting that Chief Mbadinuju, who held the position of the state's first Executive Governor from 1999 to 2003, passed away on April 11, 2023, at the age of 78.

According to a burial announcement circulating on social media, the series of events to honor the former Governor will begin with some preliminary activities. These include an Evening of Tributes & Eulogies scheduled for Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at the Musa Yar'Adua Centre, CBD, Abuja, starting at 5 pm. The Celebration of Life is set for November 11 at the South Charlotte Banquet Center, Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, beginning at 6 pm. Additionally, there will be a Prayer for the Family on November 12 at St. Matthews Anglican Church, Maitama, Abuja, starting at 7 am.

Following these preliminary events, there will be a series of State Burial Events. These include Lying in State at Government House, Awka, scheduled for November 21 at 3 pm; a State Commendation Ceremony at ICC, Awka, on November 22 at 12 noon; Praise and Worship at Odera Country Home, Uli, Ihiala, on November 23 from 6 pm to 8 pm; and Lying in State at Central Field Uli on November 24 starting at 8 am.

Other events in the schedule comprise an Interdenominational Burial Service set for November 24 at Odera Country Home, Uli, Ihiala, at 10 am; a Burial Reception scheduled for November 24 at Central Field, Uli, Ihiala, at 1 pm; Condolence Visits at Odera Country Home, Uli, Ihiala, on November 25 at 10 am; and an Outing Service at St. Thomas Anglican Church, Uli, on November."
