Tragedy struck in Akure, Ondo State capital on Monday when an over-speeding hit-and-run motorist ran over a secondary school student, killing her on the spot.
According to an eyewitness the student was
returning from school and was standing by the roadside when tragedy struck.
“Friends of the driver, a suspected internet
fraudster, who was in another vehicle, rushed him to an unknown destination as
his vehicle burst into flames.
“Government needs to pay attention to the
recklessness of these internet fraudsters,’’ the eyewitness said.

Olufunmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed the incident and said the student's corpse had been deposited in the morgue at Akure Specialist Hospital.
Some Twitter users who shared news of the accident called on Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state to take action on the issue of reckless driving among young boys in the state.
