A man identified as Miyin Miller, was caught while allegedly trying to defraud a Point of Sale (POS) operator “using charms” in Emeyal community in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
It was gathered that the incident happened on
Wednesday, May 2, 2023.
Miller was said to have given the POS operator lots of
white papers cut to sizes of Naira notes, to deposit as money but his
charm did not work.
He was beaten by angry youths of the
community who caught him.
The suspect confessed that he used the same
method to defraud a POS operator of N150,000 (One Hundred &
Fifty Thousand), in Imiringi, a neighboring community, before heading to Emeyal
where he met his waterloo.
He was handed over to the CDC of Emeyal II
for further interrogation and investigation.
