Canadian rapper Drake has potentially taunted Kanye West by sampling Kim Kardashian's voice on his latest track, "Rescue Me."
Premiered on The Fry Yiy Show on SiriusXM
Radio, the song features a conversation between Kim and her mother Kris Jenner,
in which Kim can be heard discussing her decision to divorce Kanye. The audio
clip is from a 2021 episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
According to XXL, Kim can be heard speaking
about her decision to divorce Kanye in the audio. She said, "I didn't come
this far just to come this far and not be happy. Remember that." Kris
Jenner was then heard agreeing with Kim's point.
Kanye and Drake have a long-standing feud,
and this isn't the first time Drake has referenced Kim in his lyrics. In the
past, he has made multiple references to her, even previously alluding to an
affair between the two in a 2021 song titled "Wants And Needs." He
also suggested that he and the reality star had a fling on his 2018 track
"In My Feelings."
Drake famously repeats the line "Kiki,
do you love me?" on the hit song, leading fans to point out that Kiki is a
nickname Kim's sisters sometimes use for her. Kim went on to publicly warn
Drake to "never threaten" her family as she waded into West and Drake's
explosive feud. She warned Drake to stay away from her partner and their
children and directly addressed @drake on Twitter, writing, "Never
threaten my husband or our family. He paved the way for there to be a
Drake."
The two rappers reportedly settled their
differences in 2021 when they performed at a benefit concert. However, it seems
that Drake may still be taking shots at Kanye, who recently released his
long-awaited album "Donda." Kanye's album includes a number of songs
that fans have speculated are about Kim, and the rapper himself has said that
the album is a tribute to his mother, who passed away in 2007.
It remains to be seen how Kanye will respond
to Drake's latest move, but fans are eagerly anticipating the release of the
new track. In the meantime, Kim Kardashian is moving forward with her divorce
from Kanye, with the couple reportedly splitting their assets and working out a
custody arrangement for their four children.
