Nigerian artist Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charley Boy, has called on young Nigerians to remain calm and not overreact to the “vexing” 2023 election results announced by INEC.
Mr. Oputa, responding to gathering at Unity Fountain said the it serves to protest the alleged falsification of election results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

"The election result was extremely
fraudulent, annoying and a financial disaster considering how much money the
federal government had wasted on the exercises.
Mr.
Oputa expressed satisfaction with the behaviour of young Nigerians in the
electoral process.
Isaac Balami, the organizer of the peaceful
march, said the rally was a protest against the results of the 2023
presidential election published by INEC.
He said that the INEC violated code and peace accord reached reached by
the pilotical parties by not keeping their promises.
Mr
Balami attributed the huge turnout across the country to INEC's promises that
the elections would be transparent and that their votes would be counted.
He further said Said that INEC’s Bimodal
Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) stopped working in the middle of the
election when he found out the APC was losing the election.
Mr Balami said non celebration of APC victory
across the country shows that the election result does not reflect people's
choice.
