Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, has bagged the Vanguard Good Governance Award for the year 2024.
The
award was presented to him by Vanguard Newspaper at Eko Hotels and
Suites, Lagos.
Prof.
Soludo was selected for this award in recognition of his significant
achievements since assuming office as the Governor of Anambra State three years
ago.
Governor
Soludo’s accomplishments span infrastructure development, urban renewal,
education, healthcare, and a comprehensive overhaul of the state’s security
architecture—including the establishment of the Agunechemba Security Outfit.
Other
governors who received the Good Governance Award include Governors Hope
Uzodinma (Imo), Diri Duoye (Bayelsa), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Abba Yesufu
(Kano), Abiodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), and Umar Namadi (Jigawa).
Posthumous
awards were also presented to two elder statesmen, Pa Edwin Clark and Pa Ayo
Adebanjo.
In
his opening remarks, the Chairman of the event, Mr. Atedo Peterside, described
the occasion as inspiring and noted that the awardees have set exemplary
standards through their dedication and passion.
Contributing,
the Editor-in-Chief of Vanguard Newspaper, Mr. Eze Anaba, said the
awards were meant to celebrate outstanding achievements and to recognize
remarkable individuals who have made significant contributions in their
respective fields of human endeavour.
