Pastor Ezenwa Urges Faithful to "Unlock the Supernatural" at Thanksgiving Service in Mbaukwu

Believers gathered at Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel) in Mbaukwu, Awka South Local Government Area, Anambra State, for a spirit-filled End of the Month Thanksgiving, Dedication, and Showers of Blessings Service on Sunday.

The service, themed “Unlocking the Supernatural,” was led by Pastor Emeka Ezenwa, who delivered a stirring sermon urging worshippers to recognise the reality of two realms the natural and the supernatural, and to build their lives firmly on the word of God.

In his sermon, Pastor Ezenwa explained that while the natural realm encompasses the physical world, the terrestrial and territorial, it is ultimately the supernatural that governs the outcomes experienced on earth.

“The spirit controls the affairs of the natural world,” Pastor Ezenwa said. “God formed man from the dust, but it was the breath of the supernatural that brought us into existence. Without the spirit, we return to where we came from.”

The pastor emphasised that within the supernatural realm, the only enduring currency is the word of God. Earthly possessions such as wealth, influence, or connections hold little weight in the spiritual domain.

“What determines your command in the supernatural is the amount of God’s word you have internalised, believed, and acted upon,” he told the congregation.

Drawing from the Bible, Pastor Ezenwa recalled the plight of the Israelites as they fled Egypt, facing the Red Sea ahead and the Egyptian army behind. Quoting Genesis 17, he recounted how Moses, equipped only with a rod, a symbol of divine authority parted the sea through obedience to God's instruction.

“Moses had already seen that rod swallow the magicians’ powers in Pharaoh’s court. It was that same rod he lifted that parted the Red Sea. When the Israelites witnessed this supernatural act, they burst into songs of praise,” he said.

Pastor Ezenwa stressed that it is not enough merely to hear or believe God’s word. True transformation, he said, lies in engagement  putting faith into action.

He cited Mark 16:15-20 to underline that signs and wonders follow those who actively receive, believe, and obey the word. “The supernatural is the manifestation of the Word we hear, believe, and act upon,” he said.

Linking faith with obedience, Pastor Ezenwa referenced the wedding at Cana, where Jesus turned water into wine after the servants followed His simple instruction. "The supernatural answers to our obedience in faith," he said.

Addressing the challenges of doubt and unbelief, he encouraged worshippers to deepen their personal relationship with God. Quoting John 1:12, he reminded the congregation that to those who believe, God grants the power to become His sons.

“The same power that was given to one is given to all. But doubt often robs us of this privilege,” Pastor Ezenwa said.

He urged members of the church to immerse themselves in the study of Scripture, explaining that a firm grasp of God’s word illuminates the spirit and empowers believers against adversity.

“There are battles you will no longer need to fight when you know who you are in Christ,” he said, referencing Proverbs 4:18 to affirm that believers are redeemed for “an unending progress.”

“You are not redeemed to be defeated. You are redeemed to command exploits,” Pastor Ezenwa concluded, leaving the congregation inspired to walk in faith and power.

The service closed with a lively thanksgiving session, as families dedicated themselves anew to God and offered prayers of gratitude for blessings received.
