The Mayor of Idemili North Local Government Area, Hon. Stanley Nkwoka (Ochendo), has flagged off the Digital Enumeration and Collection of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) in the LGA.
The flag-off took place on
Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at the INLGA Secretariat in Ogidi, Anambra State,
shortly after the completion of intensive training for Digital IGR Enumerators
and Collectors selected from all the political wards and communities in Idemili
North.
Speaking through the Secretary
of INLGA, Hon. Paul Chidubem Okoye, the Mayor stated that the initiative aligns
with Governor Chukwuma Soludo's directive to digitalize IGR collection. He
added that the process includes the enumeration and collection of data on all
residents and properties within Idemili North.
He noted that over 80 personnel
engaged as Digital IGR Enumerators and Collectors by the LGA would be lifted
out of the labor market and empowered, adding that actual data collection would
commence within the week.
"On behalf of Ochendo Idemili, Hon. Stanley Nkwoka, the Mayor of Idemili North LGA, I welcome you today. We have completed the training process for Digital Enumeration and IGR Collection.
"Today, we are flagging
off this initiative to enable the revenue team to go into the field to commence
data acquisition, enumeration, and subsequently, the automated collection of
revenue for INLGA.
"We believe that the
knowledge you have acquired over the past weeks of training will be of great
benefit to the LGA, thereby transforming our IGR base for the better. This
initiative aligns with Governor Soludo's zero-tolerance policy for cash revenue
collection.
"Idemili North is taking
the lead with this initiative. I don’t think any other LGA in Anambra State has
implemented what we are doing now. Idemili North is always a pacesetter. You
are going out there as good ambassadors of INLGA. Do not deviate from the
training you have received. Go out there and do the job to make our Mayor,
Ochendo, Idemili North, our Governor, Odenigbo Global, and Anambra State
proud," he said.
He further instructed the field
workers to be ready to begin work before Friday, stating that proper
documentation for their identity cards and uniforms was ongoing. "Our
dress code is a blue top with an ash face cap, paired with black or blue jeans.
It will make you unique and presentable," he added.
Other dignitaries present at
the event included the wife of the INLGA Mayor, Mrs. Nkwoka, and the INLGA
Chief of Staff, Hon. Chukwunonso Dim (Udala Mbaukwu), among others.
