- Pledges Continued Support For Vulnerable Constituents

The
Deputy Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Pius
Okoye, has reaffirmed his commitment to improving the welfare of his
constituents, particularly the less privileged.
Hon. Okoye
stated this during a visit by the Anambra State Council of the Nigeria Union of
Journalists (NUJ) at his Amawbia residence in Awka South Local Government Area,
he emphasized that his political career is driven by a passion for service.
The Deputy Speaker who represents Awka Constituency II, revealed that his empowerment initiatives, which began in 2014, are designed to uplift children, youth, women, and the disadvantaged. These programmes focus on fostering self-reliance, protecting rights, and creating a secure environment for growth.
He disclosed that he spends millions of naira annually on scholarships, housing
for the elderly, and empowerment schemes such as free vehicles and soft loans.
“I
entered politics to serve, not to accumulate wealth,” Okoye stated. “My goal is
to bring happiness and empowerment to people, helping them succeed in their
chosen fields. I don’t seek publicity for these efforts because I see them as
my service to God and humanity.”
The lawmaker also highlighted his contributions to improving security and infrastructure in schools and communities, underscoring his dedication to making a tangible difference.
Dr.
Odogwu Emeka Odogwu, Chairman of the NUJ Anambra State Council, praised Okoye
for his consistent delivery of democratic dividends. He assured the Deputy
Speaker of the union’s support in advancing his charitable and political
initiatives, which aim to benefit all residents of the state.
Through
his unwavering commitment to service, Okoye continues to inspire hope and
transformation in his constituency, demonstrating that politics can be a
powerful tool for positive change.
