The
Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Lands, Survey, and Town Planning
has commended the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) for its
contributions to urban development in the state.
Leading
an oversight visit to the ACTDA office on March 6, 2025, in Awka, the Committee
Chairman, Hon. Jude Akpua, who addressed journalists, praised the agency's
progress, particularly under the leadership of its Managing Director, Mr. Ossy
Onuko. He noted that ACTDA's work aligns with Governor Chukwuma Charles
Soludo's vision of making Anambra a livable and prosperous homeland.
The
visit focused on assessing the agency's activities, including internally
generated revenue, building approvals, and other key areas. However, Hon. Akpua
assured that the committee would thoroughly review the submitted documents
before providing further recommendations.
In response, Mr. Onuko welcomed the lawmakers' visit, emphasizing the critical role of legislative oversight in governance. He reaffirmed ACTDA's dedication to transparency and collaboration with the State House of Assembly to drive sustainable urban development in the capital territory.
In
attendance were members of the committee and ACTDA management staff.
