The Anambra State Government has announced plans to launch "Operation Udo Ga-Achi," a comprehensive security initiative to address the insecurity and ensure the safety of residents and visitors across the state.
The announcement follows the
2025 Executive Council (ANSEC) Retreat, held on 13 January at the International
Convention Centre, Awka. The retreat, themed "Changing Gear:
Accelerating the Execution of the Solution Agenda in 2025," brought
together state executives, local government leaders, and key stakeholders to
assess progress and set priorities for the year.
Speaking on the initiative,
Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, said the programme underscores the
administration's commitment to fostering peace and security in the state.
"Operation Udo Ga-Achi is
a strategic response to the security challenges we face. It will involve
community policing, intelligence-driven operations, and collaboration with
various stakeholders to create a safer Anambra for everyone," Mefor
stated.
The Commissioner highlighted
the significance of the retreat, noting that it provided an opportunity to
evaluate achievements, identify challenges, and chart a course for accelerated
development in key sectors such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
"This retreat represents a
turning point as we move to execute the Solution Agenda with greater urgency.
Our collective focus remains on delivering results that impact lives
positively," he added.
The launch of "Operation
Udo Ga-Achi" is expected in the coming week, marking a critical step in
the Soludo administration’s broader vision of transforming Anambra State into a
model of peace, progress, and prosperity.
