It was a colorful celebration of unity and brotherhood as the Amichi Community Association, Lagos Branch, marked its "Okpala Day" celebration on Sunday.
The event recognized several
illustrious benefactors for their immense contributions to the development and
progress of the community. These individuals were also celebrated for
distinguishing themselves in their various fields of endeavor and for using
their resources to benefit humanity.
Speaking during the occasion,
the Anambra State Liaison Officer in Lagos, Barr. Leo Chiegboka, urged the
Amichi Community to contribute their quota towards the development of the
state.
Barr. Chiegboka emphasized the
importance of maintaining a strong connection with their homeland and
encouraged parents to train their children properly to prevent them from
engaging in negative activities.
In his remarks, the Chairman of
the event, Sir Chika Ezenwile, called for unity in Amichi town and Anambra
State as a whole. He also commended the organizers of the event for their
efforts in making it a success.
Presenting his address, the
Chairman of the Amichi Community Association, Lagos Branch, Mr. Dom Nwobi,
appealed for support and solutions to the various challenges facing the Amichi
Community. He highlighted the need for unity and urged everyone to contribute
positively to the town's growth.
The awardees included the
Chairman of Chisco Group of Companies, Chief Chidi Anyaegbu; Chief Emma
Umeohia; Lady Uchenna Umeohia; the Chairman and CEO of Phine Prosperity Nigeria
Ltd, Chief Mike Umeohia; Chief Obinna Egwuonwu; and Sir Benjamin Umeojiaku.
