The Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has said that raining curses on people online constitutes cyberbullying and is a punishable offence.
Adejobi stated this in a post
on X on Friday, Dec. 20.
He wrote, "Raining direct
curses on someone online is cyberbullying, not expression of freedom or
criticism.
"And cyberbullying, which is even different from defamation, is a criminal offence and punishable. Be guided."
X users took to the comments to
disagree with him.
One X user shared a tweet made
by Adejobi himself in 2022 where he said that "mere words of mouth do not
constitute any offense."
