The Anambra Patriots for Soludo (APS) reiterated their support for Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo and commended his notable achievements during visits to two key government officials on Wednesday, December 4th, 2024.
The APS delegation, led by
Chief Damian Enekwechi, visited Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, Special Adviser to the
Governor on Political Matters, and Hon. Everest Ubah, Special Adviser to the
Governor on Trade and Market.
Chief Ejiamatu Damian
Enekwechi, Chairman of APS, declared the group’s unwavering support for
Soludo’s second term.
“We are in absolute support of Soludo’s second
tenure because of the wonderful work he is doing. We want his good works
sustained, and we have decided to contribute immensely to ensure he emerges as
governor for a second time.
"Our plan is to reach out
to Anambrarians in the 326 wards, especially those in the grassroots, to
propagate Soludo’s commendable works and provide reasons to support his
re-election,” he stated.
Chief Ejiamatu emphasized that
APS is different from other support groups as it is self-funded and does not
solicit support from anyone.
“Our presence will be felt everywhere in the
21 local governments. In no distant time, we will be heard with a simple
message, 'Ochili Mma ga chi ozo,’ and
this will be funded from now until the election period,” he added.
During the visit to the Anambra
State Government House, Dr. Obiogbolu expressed his appreciation for APS’s
support and highlighted the challenges and efforts of Soludo’s administration
in making Anambra a livable state.
“In the area of security, we’ve achieved a
level of safety where nine local governments that were under siege now have
only a few towns and communities where life has not returned to normal. The
governor’s commitment to pursuing and apprehending criminals is evident in the
constant reports of their neutralization,” he said.
Dr. Obiogbolu also mentioned
the administration’s achievements in infrastructure, including over 500 km of
roads and the recent award of more than 50 km of new roads. He noted the governor’s
focus on alleviating hardship by providing free education from primary to
senior secondary school.
Hon. Everest Ubah, speaking at
the state secretariat, recalled the governor's role as chairman of the Anambra
‘2070 Vision’ and emphasized the importance of planning to achieve a developed
state.
“To achieve a Dubai or Taiwan-like Anambra,
planning is essential. The ongoing road constructions will interconnect roads,
ensuring quick and seamless travel across the state,” he said.
Hon. Ubah urged APS members to
remain dedicated and not be like some support groups who seek incentives or
benefits which serves as determinants to get to work.
In response, Chief Ejiamatu
reiterated that APS is self-funded and committed to its mission without
external support. Hon. Ubah commended their efforts and promised to relay their
intentions to the governor and provide necessary assistance.
The Deputy Majority Leader of
the Anambra House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Jude Akpua, praised Dr. Obiogbolu for
his dedication and urged him to keep APS informed about their activities. Dr.
Akpua also noted that APS has a startup grant to support their campaign for
Soludo’s success and requested maximum support from Hon. Ubah’s office.
