A prominent Orumba South APGA stalwart, Prince Neville Uchendu, has extolled the Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR, for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to sustainable development following the signing of the Anambra Local Government Administration Law of 2024. He made these remarks over the weekend during a courtesy visit to the Government House in Awka.
Speaking during the visit, Prince Uchendu, who served as the Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba South Local Government Area for two years, stated that Soludo's exemplary leadership serves as a beacon of hope for Anambra, noting his administration’s unwavering commitment to the sustainability of local governance for the overall well-being of the people.
He opined that Governor Soludo's proactive approach in
advocating for collaboration between the state and local governments is both
timely and necessary to avert chaos and mismanagement of public funds that
could arise from the full implementation of absolute local government autonomy.
According to him, the new law underscores Governor Soludo’s commitment to championing accountability, transparency, and good governance by fostering the effective management of local resources at the grassroots level. He lauded the Governor’s emphasis on the critical role of state oversight in safeguarding public trust and ensuring that local governments operate within a legal framework that reinforces their constitutional mandate.
"Soludo’s insistence on
the need for state oversight of local governance demonstrates his deep
understanding of the complexities involved in governing multiple tiers of
government, as many local administrations lack the financial infrastructure to
sustain themselves independently," he said.
Prince Uchendu commended Soludo
for significantly repositioning Anambra as a model of effective governance in
the country through his numerous, remarkable, life-transforming projects and
programs in the state. He remarked that the leadership of Professor Charles Chukwuma
Soludo CFR has effectively touched lives across the entire 21 local government
areas in the state, from health and education to infrastructure and
empowerment, noting that his giant strides are a testament to his consistent
and impactful achievements.
Prince Uchendu went further to
affirm that Soludo’s purpose-driven leadership is succeeding in humanizing
politics, thereby leaving a lasting legacy of progress. He urged Ndi Anambra to
join Soludo on this journey of disruptive change and positive transformation
for a better future.
