"Former president Good
luck Jonathan has stated that the results of the recent governorship election
in Edo state demonstrates that technology' alone cannot resolve Nigeria's
electoral problems.
"He emphasized that the
root of the issue lies on the mindset of the people, not just the tools used.
Jonathan pointed out that while technology' has its benefits, it can still be
manipulated by INDIVIDUALS with CORRUPT intentions... shift in attitude is
needed among Nigerians, as many approach politics with a negative
mindset".
***Comment:
(1) Sad indeed for a former
president to mount such gibberish and utter rubbish. Why do I say so? I
deliberately wrote individuals and corrupt in capital letters because the two
words are at the core of the persistent mindless electoral malfeasance in
Nigeria.
(2) The sole, proximate cause
of mindless electoral malfeasance in Nigeria is crass neglect of RULE OF LAW.
Nigeria has adorned the notoriety of a banana republic where Rule of Law has
taken flight while people in the top echelon indulge in mindless impunity,
illegalities, monstrosities of unspeakable proportion.
(3) In all honesty, President
Good luck Jonathan, was the February 2023 presidential election free and fair;
was the billions of public funds expended in procuring election technology, BVM
and others used in the calculations of the results of the polling booths during
the presidential election?
(4) Who was the Chairman of the
INEC! Was he interrogated by the appropriate authority about what really happened
in the cause of collation of the election results? What did he say, and was
what he said relevant to the monstrosities that took place during the
presidential election?
(4) All the monitoring
institutions including international monitoring groups and institutions were
all in agreement that the presidential election was flagrantly manipulated and
woefully failed in terms of international standard of conducting and collation
of election results and final conclusion and public announcement in a broad daylight?
(5) Fact remains that Good luck
Jonathan is part of the problem of elections malfeasance for deliberately
pretending that he does not know the primary and proximate causes of fraudulent
elections in the country. If there is Rule of Law in Nigeria, obviously the
INEC 'strong' man and the his hordes of hell as adhoc staff and INEC Staff who
messed up the election would have been behind bars and jailed for many years to
instil fear to the Election Agency in the country.
(6) The earlier the transactional
political leaders in Nigeria resolve to accord Rule of Law, then the country
will join the sane and sanitized Federations the world over. Technology used in
the conduct of elections the world over has never been questioned nor develop
hitches during the conduct of the elections. BVA and other electoral gadgets
were functional during the National Assembly election but the demons and hordes
of hell came down during the presidential election to "damage" the
BVA and other stuff hence the declaration of somebody who lost the election and
the brazen-faced INEC strong man shamefacedly advised the supposed losers to
"go to court" with Stone face. Who is fooling whom in the apparently
"accursed and expired" Nigeria?
