The #EndBadGovernance protest was taken to the private residence of the former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, on Tuesday.
Naija News understands that
protesters marched in their large numbers to the residence of the incumbent
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Port Harcourt earlier today.
It is worth noting that Wike
has strongly opposed the nationwide protests by Nigerians decrying the hardship
under the incumbent administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The FCT Minister has also made
efforts to stop the demonstration in the Nigerian capital city.
Although the demonstrations
appear to have subsided in the FCT, they are gaining momentum in Wike’s home
state.
As the protests enter their
sixth day, demonstrators assembled outside the former governor’s mansion in the
state capital.
In response, the Nigerian
Police Force increased its presence in the area to maintain order and ensure
the safety of all involved.
On the first day of the
protests, demonstrators had previously confronted Governor Siminalayi Fubara at
the Government House, where he attempted to distribute money for ‘pure water,’
leading to a public embarrassment.
