The Federation of International Basketball Association (FIBA) has applauded Nigeria’s D’Tigress superb display at the 2024 Olympic Games.
This comes after they were knocked
out by the United States.
Rena Wakama’s side bowed out of
the women’s basketball event to holders USA, 88-74 on Wednesday night.
D’Tigress defeated world number
three Australia and world number five Canada in the group stage.
They made history as the first
African team to play in an Olympic quarter-final.
“A fascinating run that we will
remember for a long time,” FIBA wrote on X.
“Nigeria, you’re leaving Paris
on the highest note.”
