The Bill for the creation of Etiti State Out Of South East has been passed for a second reading in the House of Representatives.
The
bill, which suggests the creation of an additional state from the five states
in the South East passed a second reading on Thursday.
The new
state, if created, would cover 11 current local government areas in that
region.
Lawmaker,
Amobi Godwin Ogahin his reaction, highlighted the significance of establishing
the state to ensure the southeast region is on par with the other zones in the
country.
Five members
of the House of Representatives, Amobi Ogah, Miriam Onuoha, Kama Nkemkama,
Chinwe Nnabuife, and Anayo Onwuegbu, presented the proposal to form a new state
from the five states in the region.
