punchy, incisive and point-blank Editorial captioned: "TINUBU , WHAT IS
YOUR SECURITY PLAN? Contended inter alia:
"Nigeria
is the only federal state without decentralized policing. To stem the carnage,
Tinubu should bring the weight of his office to bear on the state police
project by collaborating with the National Assembly to invoke the ‘doctrine of
necessity.’ The policy can curb crime in rural areas presently being
underserved"
ECOWAS Standby Force For Terrorism: Arrant
Stupidity
In my
previous postings, I wondered aloud, lamenting the sad and unfortunate
deteriorating Editorial write-ups of Nigerian newspapers. Why this shocking
development in the Nigerian newspapers with particular reference to the
Editorial Board members.
Have
they lost interest in the already expired Nigeria deteriorating everyday due to
faulty leadership recruitments in the federal and state governments hence
throwing up base human beings occupying sensitive political positions and
deciding the fortunes of the apparently helpless citizens wallowing in multi-dimensional
poverty as the world recognized Nigeria as the headquarters of multi-dimensional
poverty.
It was
shocking to read the Daily Sun Editorial of May 17, 2024 captioned:
"ECOWAS' initiative for security in West Africa". The deplorable
Editorial contended inter alia:
"In
a move to guarantee peace in the West African sub-region, the Economic
Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has pledged to assist member states
battling terrorism through a standby force. The initiative comes as an
institutional framework to counter the escalating trend of insecurity in some
countries in the sub-region and the Sahel. ECOWAS aims to raise $2.4 billion
for the establishment of the standby force. This is a commendable development."

comment:
On what
premise should the Daily Sun Editorial Board give backing to a silly and
utterly senseless plan by a good for nothing ECOWAS (including the equally
useless contraption referred to as African Union AU) in president Tinubu's
supposed establishment of "Africa's Regional counter terrorism" to
rein in the Islamic insurgency and the deceptively tagged "bandits and
criminals" that have constituted a government of their own.
Their
areas of serious operation being in the Northeast and Northwest axis,
mindlessly slaughtering indigenous population and extorting tax from farmers,
kidnapping for humongous ransom while the supposed Nigerian security agencies
pretend to be helpless to waste them in spite of the humongous billions of
funds released in the annual budgets on security for the purchase of state of
the art military accoutrements, facilities and equipment and intelligence
gadgets.
What
the Daily Sun Editorial Board as a sufficiently enlightened segment of the
society, is to lambast the rudderless and good for nothing ECOWAS and Africa
Union leaderships for not severely sanctioning the leadership of few African
countries especially Nigeria for sustaining fundamentally, fraudulent and
flawed political structure and contraption backed with the military Decreed
Constitution which had been rightly described as a "Federal-Unitary
contraption" deliberately designed to hasten the dream Islamization agenda
of the support "Fulani Feudal Oligarchy and Northern Political Emirate
Establishment" who bestride the country like a Colossus unconscionably
dictating how Nigeria should be governed to achieve Feudal Oligarchy and
Islamic Republic.
ECOWAS
supposed "Regional Counter Terrorism" is a shameless harebrained
initiative. ECOWAS and Africa Union leaderships which mope like hungry cows
while Devil inspired sadistic human beings preside over the corporate affairs
of countries like Nigeria where Rule of Law had been thrown to the dogs. The
ECOWAS and Africa Union leaderships watched Nigeria under the leadership of
president Buhari's eight years of the locust and shamelessly became tongue-tied
marionette at the utterly scandalous 2023 presidential election and the
abracadabra of the Supreme Court endorsement
of the unspeakable havoc by the Nigerian electoral umpire.
Sensible
regional and Continental organizations should first of all, compel countries
under their watch to enthrone proper political structure backed up with proper
security architecture relevant to the system of government in the country. For
how, ECOWAS and Africa Union ought to have sanctioned Nigerian leadership past
and present for still clinging feverishly to a fraudulent political structure
backed with fraudulent security architecture which led to the pervasive and
intractable insecurity throughout Nigeria.
The
earlier ECOWAS and Africa Union is scrapped, the better for the African
continent. Thanks be to God that some African countries have resigned from the
membership of the two useless organizations.
