Venerable (Dr.) Nnamdi Emendu
delivered the charge at the funeral service for the late Mr. Daniel Obiajulu
Nwankwo, held at St. Mark’s Anglican Church in Enugwu-Agidi, Njikoka, Local
Government Area, Anambra State.
Venerable Emendu said every soul, regardless of status, on the Day of Judgment, will face scrutiny. He noted that divine records will be unveiled, detailing every life lived. He stressed that to secure a place in the book of life, embracing Jesus as personal Saviour and adhering to His teachings is paramount.
“You living wholeheartedly for
God is essential, as only He possesses the knowledge of Jesus' return. To
secure a place in the book of life, purge your life of idolatry, renounce
secret societies, and forsake any actions that dishonour God. Embrace a life
dedicated to glorifying Him, walking in His ways, and spreading His love. By
aligning your actions with His will, you ensure your name is eternally
inscribed in His book of righteousness and salvation,’’ he said.
Venerable Emendu offered a
heartfelt prayer, stating that the late, Mr. Daniel Obiajulu Nwankwo would be
remembered for his good deeds and beseeched God for the family for strength and
solace to endure the weight of their loss.
The late Mr. Daniel Obiajulu
Nwankwo hailed from the esteemed Ozo Nwankwo Ilozue lineage of the Umuikenga
kindred in Iruobieli Village, Enugwu-Agidi. Throughout his life, he thrived as
a prosperous businessman, known for his urbanity, love, hospitality, and devout
reverence towards God.
An active member of St.
Christopher’s Episcopal Church, Mr. Nwankwo contributed significantly, serving
as a warden, usher, bible reader, and committee board member. Additionally, he
passionately engaged in various charitable endeavours, reflecting his deep
commitment to his faith and community.
He is survived by his lovely wife, Mrs. Gloria Uche Nwankwo (Nee Ekwughe), children: Daniel Ikechukwu Jr., Robert Eloka, Linda Chinelo, and Nicole Uchenna. Additionally, he leaves behind cherished grandchildren, beloved brothers, caring nephews and nieces, and a respected son-in-law.
