Uche Kalu Conferred With 'Ada Eji Ejemba' Title For Exceptional Dedication, Embodying Community's Values

The Amaedo Ohafor Autonomous Community, Ndi Orieke Ohafia, Ohafia LGA, Abia State, celebrated Comrade (Mrs.) Uche Kalu, acknowledging her as a role model and an embodiment of the community's values.

Accompanied by her husband, Pastor Sunday Kalu, and children, Comrade (Mrs.) Uche Kalu, a highly respected journalist, was bestowed with the prestigious title of 'ADA EJI EJEMBA' OF AMAEDO OHAFOR Autonomous Community Ndi Orieke Ohafia by His Royal Highness, Eze Obuma Kalu Obuma, the  OKWARA EZEMA.

The conferment was at the coronation anniversary of HRH, the Okwara Ezema 1 of Amaedo Ohafor Autonomous Community, Eze Obuma Kalu Obuma, which took place on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at the ceremonial grounds of the community.   

Mrs. Kalu, acclaimed for her distinguished career in journalism, emerged as a stalwart of service and dedication. Her unyielding commitment to uplifting and serving the Ohafor community earned her the esteemed title of 'Ada Eji Ejemba' – a symbol of honor and distinction.

Eze Obuma, who expressed his joy in recognizing and honoring individuals who use their skills and influence for the greater good, commended Mrs. Kalu for her outstanding contributions to her profession and community. He lauded Mrs. Kalu's unwavering commitment, tireless efforts, and significant impact in advancing the well-being of the community.

"Mrs. Kalu's dedication and service exemplify the qualities of leadership, compassion, and selflessness that are essential for fostering positive change and progress in our community and beyond. Her remarkable achievements not only bring honor to herself but also uplift and inspire those around her," he said.

Following her conferment, Mrs. Kalu expressed her appreciation to HRH Eze Obuma and the people of Amaedo Ohafor Autonomous Community for the meritorious honor bestowed upon her.

"I convey my deep sense of humility and privilege in receiving the honor bestowed on me. I acknowledge the significance of the recognition and the immense responsibility that came with it, identifying it as a symbol of trust and recognition from the community I hold dear in my heart and promise to uphold the tenets that fostered the recognition.

"I express my gratitude for the unwavering support and encouragement I have received throughout my journey, the invaluable lessons learned, and the cherished memories forged within the community and beyond that have contributed to shaping me into the person that I am today."

"The recognition is a call for more commitment to serving them and pledged to uphold the values of integrity, compassion, and service that have been instilled in me," she said.   

She assured of using the award recognition as a catalyst for positive change and progress that will bring more honor and goodwill to Amaedo Ohafor Autonomous Community.

In his remarks, the husband of the celebrant, Pastor Sunday Kalu, thanked the traditional ruler for finding his wife worthy of the title.

"I'm excited about the distinguished honour bestowed upon my wife. I express my profound appreciation for the meticulous consideration exhibited by the traditional ruler in recognizing my wife's exemplary qualities and invaluable contributions to the community.

"I acknowledge the profound sense of pride and honour it has brought to our family. We are not only celebrating her achievements but also reaffirming our unwavering commitment to upholding the cherished values and traditions upheld by the esteemed traditional ruler and the community at large," he said.

The title of 'Ada Eji Ejemba' is traditionally reserved for women who exhibit exceptional dedication, service, and leadership in advancing the well-being of their community. 


 

The conferment ceremony, which featured traditional rulers within Ohafia kingdom attracted dignitaries, community leaders, and well-wishers who gathered to witness the acknowledgment of Mrs. Kalu's remarkable contributions.
