Nigerian Soldiers, Okuama Tragedy And Primitive Style Of Governance

 By Polycarp Onwubiko

Shocking indeed! How can Nigeria with elected president allow tragedy of monumental proportion in the Okuama community in delta state simply because soldiers were killed by gunmen those identify is yet to the uncovered?

how can a country that claim to have civilized people in leadership allow soldiers to mindlessly kill people who knew nothing about the killing of soldiers and unconscionably drove away the inhabitants of Okuama community who ran into the bush and contend their lives with wild animals and reptiles in the 21 century world?

Sorry for Nigeria, the leadership has no conscience at all. Vanguard newspaper Saturday April 6 2024 carried story of how Okuama community people are dying in the bush bitten by snakes while the conscienceless soldiers bar them from going back to their community. This is horrendous atrocities and a clear case of man's inhumanity to man. Yet president Tinubu sits comfortable in Aso Rock villa addressing other national issues while people who voted him into office are dying in the forests as conscienceless soldiers are keeping vigil in their community supposedly looking for the killers of the soldiers. How shameless Nigeria leadership can be!

Vanguard newspaper news discovered that the house of reverend father was destroyed along with other housed bulldozed, all in the name of looking for the killers of soldiers. Sorry for Nigeria, in fact there is no governments in Nigeria. The governor of delta state is groping in the dark and cannot stake his life for the people who voted him into office.

Minimum Wage Implementation Without A Review Of Statutory Revenue Sharing Formula Will Be A Barren Excise.

For many years the federal government refused to review statutory allocation sharing to reduce the humongous share of the federal government, 54 percent.

That is why the past and present president refused to devolve powers to the state government. State police is a virtual impossibility without a review of statutory revenue sharing. APC-led federal government is not working towards devolution of powers (don't call it restructuring the lopsided federation and dumping the military decreed unitary constitution.
