Daily Independent editorial captioned "the recurrent bloodbath in plateau, Benue states" on behalf of Nigerians expressed utter disgust over what can rightly be described as a hidden agenda going by the conspicuous silence over the ever escalating mindless slaughtering of people including kidnapping by terrorists masquerading as herdsmen.
The pungent editorial said
inter alia:
"The federal government
must end the macabre culture of complicit silence and appeasement of the gun
toting herdsmen, who have ravaged the entire landscape of the country in recent
years".

What is then the essence and
significance cum meaning of countries belonging to international institutions
like the United Nations, and Continental and Sub Regional organizations like
African Union, AU and ECOWAS?
While these continental
organizations like AU and Sub Regional organizations, ECOWAS and prestigious
organizations like the United Nations in addition to the "Police Man"
of the World, the United States of America, US, cum powerful top echelon
members of the United Nations like France, United Kingdom, Russia, Germany,
Japan, etc. maintain sealed lips over the humanitarian crises in Nigeria for
decades, then it is no use maintaining membership with the organizations.
The mantra of "Noninterference in country's internal affairs" is due for a review because tyrants and Devil's incarnate who grabbed powers in primitive countries like Nigeria, have wrecked unimaginable havoc because of ETHNO-RELIGIOUS irredentism and despicable parochialism in governing a heterogeneous society like Nigeria.
The disastrous and horrendous
atrocities perpetrated in Nigeria since 2015 cannot be allowed to continue
otherwise the threads that hold the country together may likely snap with
unimaginable consequences to the expense and detriment of the vulnerable segments
of DNA of the country.
The pragmatic panacea remains
immediate Restructuring of the lopsided Federation with decentralized security
architecture to enable the Six Geopolitical Zones to sit down and meticulously
plan how to secure their areas, explore and exploit the natural and mineral
resources within their jurisdiction to create wealth and massive employments to
rescue the country from the ugly tag of "headquarters of poverty in the
world and multi-dimensional poverty ravaging the entire landscape.
