Dominion City Set To Hold Mothering Sunday

Mother’s Day is a day set aside for many people to show their appreciation towards mothers and mother figures worldwide. It is an annual event which occurs between the months of March and April.

On Sunday, March 17th, 2024, the women's fellowship of Dominion City, Awka Region, known as 'New Eve', will join other women in celebrating motherhood at the church's auditorium along Kwatta Road, Awka.

The event will be heralded by a power-packed program on Saturday, March 16th, with the theme: "Woman, Wellness, and Wealth," featuring practical financial wisdom for the season, free health checks, among other programs lined up for spiritual upliftment.

According to a statement by the wife of the Regional Pastor, Pastor Ifeoma Obiekwe, she described women as a special breed who build and multiply everything given to them. They are not lazy but hardworking and give to others who are in need.

She noted that women are God's last battle axe. God has fashioned women for the end-time battle and urged them to avail themselves of this opportunity to wine and dine with the King of Kings.

Speaking on the theme of this year's International Women's Day, "Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress," the woman of God celebrates the indomitable spirit of women whose contributions shape our homes, communities, and the nation at large, those who have used their talents to propagate the gospel.

According to her, investing in women is not only a moral imperative but also a vital economic necessity. "When a woman is empowered with education, healthcare, and financial opportunities, the family, church, and society will be a better place, and a chain reaction of progress that benefits all will be triggered."
