26-Year-Old Benue Farmer Married Three Women Same Day

Tersugh Aondona, a 26-year-old man from Benue, has unveiled the motivation behind his decision to marry three wives simultaneously, causing a stir on social media when news of his triple nuptials on January 31, 2024, surfaced.

Aondona, a resident of Jato-Aka in the Kwande Local Government Area of the middle belt State, shared that his substantial ownership of expansive farmland, primarily dedicated to rice, yam, and cassava cultivation, influenced his choice to embark on a polygamous union.

During an interview, Aondona disclosed that his father's encouragement also played a role in his inclination towards having multiple wives. He expressed that his familial experiences shaped his perspective on marital relationships.

To avoid potential conflicts and foster harmony, Aondona explained that marrying three women simultaneously was a strategic decision. He clarified that the complexity of managing his vast farm prompted him to seek assistance from each prospective wife, a fact he made clear to them before the unions.

Highlighting the challenges faced by those attempting sequential marriages, Aondona stated, "I noticed that it was challenging to marry another woman after being married to one already. It often leads to conflicts." Drawing from his brother's experience, he shared that marrying the women concurrently was a deliberate choice to maintain peace at home and ensure amicable relationships among the wives.

He emphasized that marrying them on the same day was a preemptive measure to avoid potential conflicts and enmity. Aondona concluded by asserting his commitment to reminding the wives of their initial agreements should any misbehavior arise.

This unconventional marital arrangement has ignited discussions about traditional practices, family dynamics, and the evolving nature of relationships in contemporary society.
