Tragedy struck Umuoji Community in Anambra State as President-General Silas Onyima was fatally shot in a targeted attack by approximately 15 unidentified hoodlums. The incident occurred on Friday evening when the assailants invaded Onyima's home, leaving the community in shock.
Onyima, newly elected and overseeing recent community elections, was killed at his residence. Details surrounding the attack are still unclear, but sources report that masked men visited his home and shot him dead.
State Police Spokesman, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident, stating that police operatives have been deployed to the area. Ikenga said, "Our men found the deceased in a pool of blood. The body has been recovered and deposited at the morgue. We are collaborating with eyewitnesses and community members to track the perpetrators, and the investigation is underway."
