Anambra State is set to
initiate the dualization of the Amawbia-Ekwulobia-Uga Road terminating at
Akokwa Imo State. The project is poised to be a substantial step toward
enhancing the transportation network within the state, promoting connectivity,
and fostering economic development in the region.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo disclosed this while in Awgbu, to
commission the 1.5km road constructed by Chief Aloysius Okoye, Ikukuoma Awgbu.
He commended Chief Okoye's
dedication to investing and contributing to the development of Awgbu, as well
as Anambra State as a whole. Governor Soludo urged other indigenes of Awgbu to
follow Chief Okoye's lead and actively participate in the progress and
prosperity of their hometown and the broader Anambra community.
Gov. Soludo strongly encouraged
a change in the way people think. He urged them to prioritize investing in
their home state, Anambra, and consider the long-term impact on the community
and the state as a whole. He stressed the importance of citizens feeling a responsibility
to contribute to the well-being of their communities and called "ndi
Anambra," to use their skills, resources, and entrepreneurial drive to
bring positive changes to the local economy.
The Governor reiterated his
dedication to making significant positive changes in Anambra State. A future where
the state becomes a symbol of prosperity and an exemplary large city that
reflects the hopes and dreams of its people. A transformed Anambra that is not
only comfortable to live in but also a vibrant center of economic, social, and
cultural achievements.
Governor Soludo also pledged to
flag-off the Awgbu-Ama-Etiti-Okpeze road project in Orumba North LGA in
demonstration of his proactive approach to infrastructure development, aiming
to create lasting positive impacts on the lives of the residents.
Governor Soludo expressed his
desire for people to collaborate with the state government to contribute to the
development of the state, emphasizing that combining efforts can lead to
significant progress. On the government's part, he assured that continuous
efforts would be made to improve Anambra, explaining the rationale behind the
various projects concurrently taking place in the state. Furthermore, he
emphasized his commitment not to make promises that cannot be fulfilled.
"I am different from other
politicians. I don't want to be like those politicians who make promises but
don't actually do anything about them. I see myself as a politician and leader
who is committed to turning every promise I make into real actions," he
stated.
