Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has asserted that his team ranks among "the worst in Europe" in terms of converting chances. Xavi's statement comes in the aftermath of their 1-1 draw with Valencia in LaLiga on Saturday. Seeking to recover from losses to Antwerp in the Champions League and Girona in the league, Barcelona faced Valencia at the Mestalla.
Despite registering 16 shots
with eight on target, compared to Valencia's four shots on 11 attempts,
Barcelona failed to secure a victory. In their last three games across all
competitions, Xavi's team made 58 attempts, with 22 on target resulting in five
goals.
OptaJose reports that Barcelona
now leads in big chances missed (41) among Europe's top five leagues. Xavi
expressed frustration after the match, stating, "This match pretty much
summarizes the season for us. We train finishing, but it depends on the
players’ confidence. We have to be one of the teams with the worst finishing in
Europe. I am very frustrated today."
