In a groundbreaking move to express firm support for Governor Soludo's transformative initiatives on security and measures to curb crimes and drug abuse in the state, the Anambra State Association of Town Unions (ASATU Youth Wing) organized a maiden youth summit. The summit aimed to promote youth sensitivity to the urgent need for effective positive representation and responsible leadership qualities in various communities.
The historic event, themed
"The Roles of Youths in the Fight Against Crimes, Criminalities, and Drug
Abuse in Our Communities," featured youth leaders from the 179 communities
across the state. It took place at the Dora Akunyili Women Development Center
in Awka, Anambra State.
In his opening remarks, the
chairman of the occasion, Ichie Sir Ezechukwu Nwabueze, pointed out that the
rise in drug abuse and criminality at the grassroots is primarily due to the

forms of administration after elder statesmen.

of Anambra youths in building a livable and prosperous homeland, urging them to
remain steadfast and committed to core values that promote hard work and
dedication to their respective goals and dreams.

of drug abuse and trafficking, emphasizing the need for early sensitization in
every community.

event and outlined the ministry's plans to create massive awareness for youth
empowerment programs. He emphasized the importance of youths acquiring multiple
skills to become employers of labor and divert their attention from drug abuse
and criminal activities.
