The Labour Party in Imo State has alleged that electoral materials have been allegedly hijacked by and diverted to a private residence in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State.
Similar accusations suggest that materials intended for Okigwe LGA were hijacked and relocated to the Okigwe LGA headquarters.
Imo State's All Progressives Congress (APC) has refuted these claims. The Labour Party's gubernatorial candidate spokesperson, Chibuikem, asserted that the materials were allegedly taken by thugs affiliated with the ruling APC.
Specifically in Orlu, it is claimed that materials for seven wards were seized by APC members and diverted to the palace of Amaifeke community's Traditional Ruler, Emmanuel Okeke. The spokesperson expressed concern about the situation and noted discrepancies in the electoral process in Okigwe.
However, the Traditional Ruler denied the allegations, and the APC's state spokesperson, Cajetan Duke, emphasized the party's commitment to avoiding electoral misconduct.
