As the global digital ecosystem experiences new technologies in diverse forms, Elon Musk, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of X Corporation and SpaceX, unveiled his own Artificial Intelligence (AI) bot to challenge ChatGPT.

It is equally designed to answer “with a bit of wit and has a rebellious streak,” according to the announcement.

Recall that Musk, earlier in 2023, was among the signatories of a petition calling for a pause in advancing AI models in order to allow for the development of shared safety protocols.

Must stated Sunday, November 5, 2023: “I signed that letter knowing it was futile.

“I just wanted to be on the record as recommending a pause.”

Earlier, US President Joe Biden, in the company with Vice-President Kamala Harris, had signed an Executive Order for AI oversight in the American country.

The prime objective of the document is to set standards for security and privacy protections, while technology leaders and academics debated the technology’s risks at the recent AI Safety Summit, in London, United Kingdom (UK).

Grok currently in testing stage, says Musk.

Describing the new AI ChatGPT tool as the product of two months of development, the CEO of X Corporation in the xAI announcement, said it would be made available to all X Premium+ users after it exits the testing stage.

Meanwhile, Musk also has spoken of his ambition to build X beyond its base as a social platform into a do-everything app akin to Tencent Holding Limited’s WeChat in China.

According to him, Grok will be an essential part of developing that — while xAI is a separate company, it says it intends to work closely with X, Tesla and other businesses.
